From all of us at the SUOSC, have a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

Quiz and Auction Night - The Results

£600 raised!!!

Firstly a huge thank you to everyone who came along and took part in the quiz and Auction Night. Once again it was great to see a full room with so many people supporting both us and our charity for the season.

Our winners this year were Jerry's Giants, who consisted of Jerry, Earl, Lindsey, Andy and Patricia. They couldn't believe they had won and by a single point as well. Congratulations to them.

We must say thank you at this point to everyone who contributed to the evening. Suzi and Karen for the quiz questions, Neal and Shardy for doing the raffle, Dave and Arthur for managing the sale table and Shardy and Mally for running the auction and keeping everyone going.

We couldn't have raised the amount we have without the wonderful donations we have received from people over the last few weeks. Simon Faulkner from Scunthorpe match worn shirts, Arthur Pugsley, Neal Campbell, Ray Linton, Karen Lee, Gary Lundie, Rory McArdle, Rory Watson, Tony Daws, and Scunthorpe United. The support we have had from you will make a huge difference.

Supporting the Academy

Today (Monday 22 October), members of the SUOSC Committee met with Tony Daws and some of the Academy players, to present them with 20 new footballs and 2 new kit bags.

"Having seen the likes of Kyle Wooten, Levi Sutton, Lewis Butroid and George Hornshaw progress from the youth team to the first team, we want to help raise the profile of the Academy and to help bring to people's attention all the work that they do.

The club is like an iceberg. The first team is the tip that people see, whilst the Academy is like the 2 thirds that is below the water and most often missed.

So many former players are now a huge part of the Academy set up and they all have Scunthorpe United at heart. A list  that include Lee Ridley, Nathan Stanton, Steve Thornber and Paul Musslewhite.

Anything that can be done to help the Academy, can help the lads who aspire to become professional players, which will then in turn help the first team. We at the SUOSC are proud to be a part of that."
